Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Mega Aggron EX from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set. Mega Aggron EX is a Mega Evolution, EX, metal type Pokemon card with an hp of 240. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a four colorless energy card retreat cost. Mega Aggron does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The only move that this card has is called Megaton Storm, this move requires four energy cards to use, two each of metal and colorless, and it does 120 damage per turn, plus if you choose to flip a coin and you get a heads, it does 120 more damage, however if you get a tails when flipping a coin, this move does 20 damage to each of your own Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
Before I start with the strategy, remember that this card is a Mega Evolution card and an EX card so if you use this card in your deck and it gets knocked out, your opponent gets to take two prize cards instead of one and when you evolve an EX card into its Mega Evolution, your turn ends, you cannot do anything else. So knowing these things, you'll always want to use Mega Evolution cards with caution, with that being said, if you want some major power in your deck I would definitely consider using Aggron EX and Mega Aggron EX. You'll want to set up Aggron EX on the bench since it requires at least three energy cards to attack, so neither Pokemon in this line are quick attackers. But I would try and get four energy cards on Aggron EX and evolve it on the bench, then in the active Pokemon spot use Mega Aggron's Megaton Storm every turn. 120 damage a turn should knock out most Pokemon in one turn, almost all Pokemon in two, however if you are facing a Pokemon with over 240 HP, I would definitely try attaching a Trick Coin trainer card to this card and having two tries at flipping a heads. Again, I want to stress how slow these Pokemon are to use, so you'll not want to use more than one, and you'll definitely want to have a Switch trainer in your deck since both Aggron and Mega Aggron require four energy cards to retreat.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average Mega EX Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set. I definitely like its high HP and its very powerful move, however, this card is extremely slow and has a high retreat cost, so it is going to take up a huge chunk of your energy cards to use, plus if you take the risky path, and try to do 240 damage a turn, the damage may add up on your own Pokemon quite quickly. But overall, looking at Aggron EX and Mega Aggron EX from this set, they definitely could be used in a metal type deck, not using more than 1 of each, together they would get a 3 out of 5 rating from me, they can do plenty of damage, but are just really slow.
