Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Ludicolo from the Primal Clash Pokemon Card Set. Ludicolo is a stage 2, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Ludicolo's Ability is called Captivating Rhythm and says that once during your turn, if you get a heads when you flip a coin, you may switch your opponent's active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon. Besides the Ability, Ludicolo just has one move called Solar Ray, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, and does 80 damage, plus it heals 20 damage from each of your Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Ludicolo is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Lotad into play and then evolve it into Lombre before you can evolve Lombre into Ludicolo, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days. If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that both of those Pokemon are pretty average, I rated Lotad a bit below average but that was because it was limited in what it could do having only one move and the only move it had requiring two energy cards, Lombre I gave a 3 rating and it was very good except for its low HP, other than that it had two, quick, solid damage moves. So knowing this about those two Pokemon and looking at this Ludicolo card, I would highly recommend using this entire line in a deck. More than likely a grass type deck, but this Ludicolo card to use with a really powerful Pokemon, once you have that Pokemon set up in the active Pokemon spot, use Ludicolo's Ability every turn, and put the weakest Pokemon of your opponent's in the active Pokemon spot and attack it using your most powerful Pokemon in the active Pokemon spot. Another strategy Ludicolo could use is a spread damage type strategy, you could spread damage around, that way, no matter the Pokemon you put into the active Pokemon spot, you should be able to still use Ludicolo's Ability and move any benched Pokemon into the active Pokemon spot and one hit knock out them. You can also use Ludicolo's only move on the attack since it does way above average damage and it can heal your Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 5 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an above average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Primal Clash set. This is a perfect Pokemon line to build a deck around since there are so many strategies that can be used with this card. You can easily utilize Ludicolo's Ability, do major damage with its only move, and heal all of your Pokemon as well. So if you're building a grass type deck, definitely consider this Pokemon line, I would give the entire line a 5 out of 5 rating, even though I gave Lotad a 2 rating, in the overall scheme of things, each Pokemon in this line works well together.
