Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Trapinch from the Furious Fists set. Trapinch is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Trapinch does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Mountain Munch, this move requires one fighting energy card and allows you to discard the top card of your opponent's deck. Trapinch's second move is called Mud-Slap, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 10 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Trapinch is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Vibrava and a stage 2 evolution in Flygon, which I'll be reviewing in the next few weeks since those two Pokemon are both dragon type Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions. So on its own, I probably wouldn't use this card since it can only do 10 damage maximum and it needs two energy cards to do this. If I were using this card with at least Vibrava I would definitely want to use this card more. If you do decide to use this card in your deck, I would use 1 maybe 2 of these cards, try to get one of them into the active Pokemon to start the game, discard a bunch of your opponent's deck using Mountain Munch, then either retreat Trapinch for a more powerful Pokemon on your bench, or add another energy card to it and use Mud-Slap.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average to slightly below average Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set. Even though I personally wouldn't use this card in a deck on its own, I am still giving this card a decent rating because it has an average HP, low retreat cost, and two moves, one being above average and one being below average. So overall, if you're looking for a fighting type Pokemon card to put in your deck, this one definitely deserves a look, but there are definitely better cards out there to use.
