Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Skorupi from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set. Skorupi is a basic, psychic type Pokemon card with an hp of 70. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Skorupi does not have an Ability but it does have two moves, the first move that this card has is called Poison Sting, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to poison the defending Pokemon if your get a heads when flipping a coin. Skorupi's second move is called Pierce, this move requires three energy cards to use, two colorless and one psychic, and does 30 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Skorupi is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Drapion, which I'll be reviewing in a couple of weeks since that it a darkness type Pokemon, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So, on its own I would not recommend using this card in a deck. Sure it does have an above average HP and two moves, but neither move on this card is that great, and you can't just use this card for its Poison Sting move because you need to attach one more energy card to it before you can retreat it. So I would not recommend using this card on its own, but if you choose to, I wouldn't use more than 1 in a deck, I would try and get it into the active Pokemon spot early and hope to get a heads when using Poison Sting. I personally wouldn't put three energy cards on this card to use Pierce, but if you already have the defending Pokemon poisoned, you really have no other options.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. So in my opinion, this is a well below average card and one that I strongly considered giving a 1 rating to. The reason I didn't was because this card does have a high HP, and two moves. Regardless of the rating, I still wouldn't recommend using this card in a deck because neither move this card has are very good, one depends on a coin flip, the other does well below average damage for the amount of energy cards it requires. You're definitely better off looking elsewhere for a Basic psychic type Pokemon card for your deck.
