Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Breloom from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set. Breloom is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Breloom does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Giga Drain, for two colorless energy cards this move does 20 damage plus you may heal the same amount of damage you did to the opposing Pokemon with this move from Breloom. Breloom's second move is called Sky Uppercut, this move requires three energy cards, two fighting and one colorless, and does 70 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Breloom is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Shroomish into play (I reviewed Shroomish from this set about a month ago) and then evolve Shroomish into Breloom. If you read my review of Breloom, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon mainly because it was very limited in what it could do, since it only had the one move that did 10 damage total, no Ability or anything else. So when looking at this Breloom card to combine with that Shroomish card, the first thing you should notice is that these two Pokemon have different types, but even though Shroomish is a grass type card, it requires only colorless energy so you can easily use it in a fighting type deck. Since Breloom is a decent card, I would recommend using a 1-1 or 2-2 line of these two Pokemon in a deck if you're building a fighting type one. You could then start the game with Shroomish in the active Pokemon spot and then evolve it there into Breloom, or set up this Pokemon line on the bench. Of course with this Breloom card, the move I would want to use would be Sky Uppercut because it does so much damage, but if you can knock out the defending Pokemon in 20 damage or less, make sure to use Giga Drain to heal damage from Breloom.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set. I like how this card has an above average HP, lower retreat cost, and two moves, one being average (Giga Drain) and one being above average (Sky Uppercut). This card could easily be used in a fighting type deck, and together with Shroomish from this set which I gave a 2 out of 5 rating, I would give a rating of 3 out of 5, it is an average Pokemon line overall.
