Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Butterfree from the Flashfire Pokemon Card Set. Butterfree is a stage 2, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Butterfree does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move that this card has is called Quiver Dance, this move requires one grass energy card and allows you to search your deck for an energy card and attach it to Butterfree. Butterfree's second move is called Gust, this move requires three energy cards, two colorless and one grass, and does 70 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Butterfree is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Caterpie into play and then evolve it into Metapod before you can evolve Metapod into Butterfree, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days. Both of those Pokemon cards are way below average and should not be used without Butterfree. Both of the first two Pokemon in this have quite low hp but both can evolve right away into the next evolution so you could potentially put Caterpie on your bench one turn and evolve it right up to Butterfree in that same turn if you had both Metapod and Kakuna on your bench. Once you get Butterfree into the active Pokemon spot, the strategy is extremely straightforward, I would recommend using Gust every turn unless you don't have enough energy cards attached to Butterfree, then use Quiver Dance to get another energy card attached to it. I wouldn't use this entire line in a deck, but I could see using a 2-1-1 line of Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree in a grass type deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion this is an average stage 2 Pokemon card from the Flashfire set. There isn't really anything I dislike about this card, both moves this card has are average to slightly above average, and the retreat cost on this card is great. However, when looking at this card, you have to take into account both Caterpie and Metapod from this set, both of those cards received 1 ratings from me, so overall, I can only give this entire line a 2 out of 5 rating and can not recommend using this line in a deck.
