Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Magnemite from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set. This is the second of two consecutive reviews I'll be doing of Magnemite from this set. Magnemite is a basic, lightning type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Magnemite does not have an Ability and this version of Magnemite only has one move. Its only move is called Electro Ball, this move requires one electric energy card and does 10 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Magnemite is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Magneton and a stage 2 evolution in Magnezone, which I'll be reviewing the next few days, you'll more than likely want to use this card with those Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions. So on its own, Magnemite would make a very decent basic Pokemon card. You would want to use this card in a lightning type deck and have this be one of your starter Pokemon, I would not include more than 1 of these in a deck. This card in my opinion is a little better starter card than yesterday's Magnemite card because it can do damage for only one energy card whereas yesteray's card required two energy cards to actually do damage. But since this card only has the one move and we're using it on its own, I would only use 1 of these in a deck so that if you get it in your hand late in the game hopefully you don't have to put it in play.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card. This card is slightly better than yesterday's Magnemite card that is why I'm giving it a 3 instead of a 2 rating. I like how this card is a bit quicker to do damage, but that is about it, other than the one move this card can't do anything else. So far, I'm not very excited about either of the Magnemite cards from this set.
