Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cubchoo from the Plasma Storm Pokemon Card Set. Cubchoo is a basic, water type Pokemon card with an hp of 70. It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Cubchoo does not have an Ability but it does have two moves. The first move it has is called Hail, this move requires one water energy card and does 10 damage to each of your opponent's benched Pokemon if you get a heads when flipping a coin. Cubchoo's second move is called Icy Snow, this move does 30 damage for three colorless energy cards.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Cubchoo is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Beartic, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So on its own, Cubchoo would be a decent card to add to a spread damage type water deck, i.e. a deck that has the Vanilluxe line from this set. I would consider adding 1 Cubchoo card to a deck with Vanilluxe because you can get Cubchoo out very early in the game and with some luck use Hail and get a heads a couple of turns to spread damage around on your opponent's Pokemon, that way later in the game when Vanilluxe is in play, many of your opponent's will be that much closer to getting knocked out when Vanilluxe spreads damage using its moves. If you are only using Cubchoo in a deck I would not put three energy cards on this card to use Icy Snow unless it is an emergency and you have to attack with this card. So again, I would not use this card on its own unless you plan on using it in a spread damage type deck, if you are I would only use 1.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a slightly below average basic Pokemon card. Even though I'm giving this card a below average rating there are still plenty of things to like about this card. I like that it has an above average hp, that it can spread damage using Hail, and that it has two moves. However, this card does have a high retreat cost, and neither of its moves are that great, one does hardly any damage for the amount of energy cards it requires and the other move may not do any damage at all.

It's a barometer of health. The healthier the Cubchoo gets, the stickier the mucus gets, and it's ice moves damage increases!
