Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Meowth from the Boundaries Crossed Pokemon Card Set. Meowth is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Mewoth does not have an Ability and it only has 1 move. The only move it has is called Fake Out, this move requires two colorless energy cards and does 20 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin, the defending Pokemon is paralyzed.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Mewoth is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Persian, usually you'll want to use a basic Pokemon card with its evolution, however there is not a Persian card in this set and the last set to have one in was Next Destinies, I reviewed that card here. If you read that review, you'll know that I didn't think Persian was very well, so you may be better off not using this line at all in a deck or just putting one Meowth card in a random deck. If you have Meowth in a deck, you'll want to put two energy cards on it and then use Fake Out every turn. This card will do better earlier in a game because of its ability to paralyze Pokemon, that way, when a Pokemon is paralyzed it will keep Meowth in the active Pokemon spot longer which allows you to set up your Pokemon longer. Like I said previously, I would not put more than 1 Meowth card in a deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card, it has average hp, an average retreat cost, and decent move. I do like that this card can be used in any deck, however I wish the card would have a move that only requires one energy card to use instead of two.
