Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gothitelle from the Dragons Exalted Pokemon Card Set. Gothitelle is a stage 2, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 130. Gothitelle is the stage 2 evolution of Gothorita, and before that Gothita, both of those Pokemon I have reviewed the past couple of days, and both of those Pokemon are in this set. Gothitelle has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Gothitelle does not have an Ability, but it does have two moves, the first move is called Doom Decree and requires two energy cards, one each of colorless and psychic. This move knocks out the defending Pokemon if you get two heads when you flip two coins. Gothitelle's second move is called Black Magic and for three energy cards, two colorless and one psychic, this move does 40 damage plus 20 more damage for each of your opponent's benched Pokemon.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Gothitelle is a stage 2 Pokemon, I would recommend evolving Gothita into Gothorita and Gothorita into Gothitelle on the bench, once you get three energy cards attached to Gothitelle I would move it into the active Pokemon spot and use Black Magic every turn. It would be best for you to use Black Magic when your opponent has a full bench so you can do at least 60 damage every turn which is the average damage a move that requires three energy cards usually does. The only time I would use Doom Decree would be if I couldn't knock the defending Pokemon out in two turns using Black Magic, then I would try my luck and use Doom Decree. Since neither of the other two Pokemon in this evolution line are any good, I would use the least amount of them as possible in your deck to use Gothitelle, if possible I would recommend using a 2-2-1 line of Gothita, Gothorita, and Gothitelle in a psychic type deck.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, this is a very average stage 2 Pokemon card. It has a low hp, and average retreat cost, and two average to above average moves. Both moves are pretty bad unless your opponent has a lot of Pokemon on their bench or your luck is great during the game, if either of these cases are true, Gothitelle can do a great amount of damage and will be an amazing card for you, if not, this card will stink.
