Fletchinder -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Fletchinder from the X and Y Pokemon card set.  Fletchinder is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Fletchinder does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Flame Charge, this move requires one colorless energy and allows you to search your deck for a fire energy card and attach it to Fletchinder.  Fletchinder's second move is called Fire Wing, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless and does 30 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Fletchinder is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Fletchling into play which I haven't reviewed yet because it is a colorless type card, but of course in order to use this card you're going to have to use that card, so I'll just assume that Fletchling is average for now.  You are probably going to want to use this card with its stage 2 evolution, Talonflame, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, but this review is looking solely at Fletchinder.  So solely looking at this card, it would be extremely good if it were a basic Pokemon because it would have above average hp, and one good move, however since this card is a stage 1 card, it isn't that great and I wouldn't recommend using this card with Fletchling in a deck without using Talonflame.  If you were to use this line in a deck, I would try and get Fletchinder into the active Pokemon spot early since it has a low hp, then use Fire Wing every turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average stage 1 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Like I stated in the strategy section of this post, this card has too low of hp for my liking and for a stage 1 card, its two moves are just average.  So I would not recommend using this card in a deck.

Delphox -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Delphox from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  Delphox is a stage 2, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Delphox's Ability is called Mystical Fire and allows you to draw cards once per turn until you have 6 cards in your hand.  Besides the Ability, Delphox just has one move that requires three colorless energy cards called Blaze Ball, this move does 50 damage plus 20 more damage for each fire energy card attached to Delphox.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Delphox is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Fennekin into play and then evolve it into Braixen before you can evolve Braixen into Delphox, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days.  Both of those Pokemon cards are below average and should not be used in a deck without Delphox, because these cards are not very good, this line should be evolved into Delphox on the bench before putting Delphox into the active Pokemon spot.  If you're building a fire type deck, you'll definitely want to consider putting this line into your deck just for Delphox, because Delphox is the only good Pokemon in this line, I wouldn't put more than a 1-1-1 line into your deck.  You can utilize Delphox's Ability from the bench throughout the entire game, or you can move Delphox into the active Pokemon spot, making sure to have 3 fire energy cards on it and do Blaze Ball for 110 damage per turn.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a pretty good stage 2 Pokemon card from the X and Y Pokemon card set.  There really isn't anything I dislike about this card, it has an average hp and retreat cost, a very good Ability, and an excellent move.  If you want a powerful stage 2 Pokemon in your deck, this is a Pokemon to add, however, overall the line of Fennekin, Braixen, and Delphox only get a 3 out of 5 rating combined from me, individually I gave Fennekin a 3, Braixen a 1, and Delphox a 4.

Braixen -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Braixen from the X and Y Pokemon card set.  Braixen is a stage 1, fire type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Braixen does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Clairvoyant Eye, for one colorless energy card this move allows you to look at the top 3 cards of your deck and put them back on your deck in any order you'd like.  Braixen's second move is called Fire Tail Slap, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless, and does 40 damage, however you must discard a fire energy card attached to Braixen after using.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Braixen is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Fennekin into play (I reviewed Fennekin from this set yesterday) and then evolve Fennekin into Braixen.  Braixen does have a stage 2 evolution in Delphox that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Braixen is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read yesterday's review of Fennekin, you'll know that I thought that the card was very average, and probably shouldn't be used on its own, due to its low hp.  So knowing that and looking at this Braixen card, I would definitely not use Fennekin and Braixen in a deck together without using Delphox.  I say this because Fennekin is an average card but this Braixen card is pretty bad, it has a low hp, and two pretty crummy moves.  If for some reason you want to use this card in a deck, I would not use more than 1 each of Braixen and Fennekin, of course you'll want to use Fire Tail Slap if possible, but instead of adding more than 2 energy cards to this card, I would probably retreat Braixen after using Fire Tail Slap once.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a pretty terrible stage 1 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  The only positive on this card is that it has a low retreat cost, other than that, the hp is low, and both moves on this card are pretty horrible.  I would stay away from using the first two Pokemon in this line on their own, and would give the first two cards in this line just a 1 out of 5 rating, Fennekin was a 3, and Braixen is a 1.

Fennekin -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Fennekin from the X and Y Pokemon card set.  Fennekin is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 50.  It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Fennekin does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Will-O-Wisp, this move requires one fire energy card and does 20 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Fennekin is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Braixen and a stage 2 evolution in Delphox, which I'll be reviewing the next two days, you'll more than likely want to use those cards with this Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed those cards yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolutions.  So on its own, this card would be an average card to use in your deck and I would only use it by itself if you're looking for one or two more Pokemon cards to put in your deck.  This card would be good early in the game because you can put it into the active Pokemon spot, attach only one energy card to it, and then be able to do 20 damage every turn, and retreat it for that same one energy card.  So I would use this card early in the game or just keep it on the bench, I would not use more than 2 of these in a deck on their own.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  The only below average thing on this card is its hp, other than that, the one move Fennekin does have does above average damage, and it has a low retreat cost which is nice.  However, without any of its evolutions, I would not use this card in a deck unless you really need it.
