Entei ex -- Team Magma vs. Team Aqua Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Entei ex from the EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua set. This is a basic, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Entei doesn't have a Poke-Body or Poke-Power but it does have two moves, the first move is called Searing Flame which does 10 damage for one fire energy card and also burns the defending Pokemon if you get a heads when you flip a coin. Entei's second move is called Bright Flame which does 90 damage for three energy cards, two fire and one colorless, however after using this move you must discard 2 energy cards attached to Entei.

PrimetimePokemon's Take:
This is one very cool looking ex card. I really like the background colors on this card, the gold and red, plus Entei is a cool looking Pokemon in general. So I definitely think Rya Ueda did a good job on this card. Besides the artwork, this card can do quite a bit of damage however it probably can't do 90 damage every turn so you'll either want to stock up energy cards on Entei ex before attacking or figure out a way to attach more than one energy card to Entei ex per turn. This card is definitely one of my favorite cards from this set. I am quite positive I have this card in my collection.

Cradily ex -- EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Cradily ex from the EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua set. This is a stage 2, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 150. It has a x2 weakness to both fire and water type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Cradily's Poke-Body is called Primal Vibes which says that as long as Cradily is your active Pokemon your opponent can't play any Pokemon from their hand to evolve one of their Pokemon in play. Besides the Poke-Body, Cradily has two moves, the first move is called Eerie Light which does 30 damage for two colorless energy cards and makes the defending Pokemon confused. Cradily's second move is called Acidic Poison and does 60 damage plus poisons and burns the defending Pokemon for four energy cards, two each of grass and colorless.

PrimetimePokemon's Take:
Stats-wise, this card is pretty similar to the Blaziken ex card I reviewed yesterday. This card is a great card to use against a deck that uses a lot of stage 2 Pokemon, all you need to do is get Cradily ex into the active Pokemon as soon as possible and then its Poke-Body will prevent your opponent from being able to evolve their Pokemon. Both of Cradily's moves are good, both do a fair amount of damage and inflict tons of special conditions. The artwork on this card was done by Ryo Ueda and is okay. If you really look close at the artwork it looks like Cradily is one of those Chinese dragons in the parade's you see, and the colors are somewhat girly.

Blaziken ex -- EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Blaziken ex from the EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua set. This is a stage 2, fire type Pokemon card with an hp of 150. It has a x2 weakness to both water and psychic Pokemon types, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Blaziken doesn't have a Poke-Power or Poke-Body but it does have two moves, the first move is called Blaze Kick which does 30 damage plus 20 more damage if you get a heads when you flip a coin, if you get a tails the defending Pokemon is now burned instead of doing 20 extra damage. Blaze Kick's attack cost is two energy cards, one each of fire and colorless. Blaziken's other move is called Volcanic Ash which takes four energy cards, two each of fire and colorless and does 100 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon, however when using this move you must discard two fire energy cards attached to Blaziken ex.

PrimetimePokemon's Take:
Back in the day when this card was playable, this card had to be pretty dominant. All you would have to do was keep Blaziken on your bench for most of the game while loading it up with energy cards, I would put 6 to 8 energy cards on it, then move Blaziken into the active Pokemon spot and use Volcanic Ash 2 or 3 times in a row and knock out 2 or 3 of your opponent's Pokemon. The faster you get energy cards attached to this card and put it into play the better this card will be since Volcanic Ash can do 100 damage to any of your opponent's Pokemon so you'll definitely want to attack your opponent's low hp Pokemon, and Blaziken should last quite a few turns with 150 hp. I do like the artwork on this card which is done by Hikaru Koike, I like how the red and yellow Blaziken is contrasted with the black and blue swirl-filled background. I believe I have this card in my collection, and I know this set is extremely high priced if you want to buy a booster box of it.

This card sells on eBay for around $15, on Professor-Oak it sells for $12.94 and on PokeOrder it goes for $35.99. So all around this card is one of the more expensive ex cards I've reviewed so far. We'll have to see how this card compares with the others from the set.

Rayquaza ex -- EX Dragon Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Rayquaza ex from the EX Dragon set. This is a basic, colorless type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to colorless type Pokemon, a -30 resistance to water and fighting type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Rayquaza doesn't have a Poke-Body or Poke-Power but it does have two moves, the first move is called Spiral Growth and for one colorless energy card you may flip a coin until you get tails, for each heads you get you may search your discard pile for an energy card and attach it to Rayquaza. Rayquaza's second move is called Dragon Burst which takes two energy cards, one each of fire and electric and does 40 damage times the number of energy cards you discard when you discard all of either your electric or fire type energy cards.

PrimetimePokemon's Take:
Even back in the day when these cards were playable I don't think I would have used this card in battle. It takes too many energy cards to do any damage and can't attack that often. Plus you'll need to put this card in a fire and electric type deck which isn't a very popular deck type. With that being said the artwork on this card isn't bad, I like the background and how Rayquaza is flying through the picture. The artwork was done by Hikaru Koike. I do have this ex card in my collection.
