Marowak -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Marowak from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  Marowak is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 100. It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost.  Marowak's Ability is called Bodyguard and says that it prevents all effects of attacks, excluding damage, done to you or your hand from your opponent's Pokemon, plus it removes all existing effects.  Besides the Ability, Marowak just has one move called Bonemerang, for two energy cards, one each of fighting and colorless, this move does 60 damage times the number of heads you get when flipping a coin.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Marowak is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Cubone into play, there is not a Cubone in this set but there is one in the BREAKthrough set, then evolve Cubone into Marowak.  If you're building a deck and think you're going to face lots of decks that have their main strategy being inflicting special conditions, this card is a staple to include in your deck, at least a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family.  This card is also necessary if you use a move that puts your active Pokemon to sleep, as you could use Bodyguard to wake it up each turn.  So I do think that Bodyguard is a very powerful Ability and is the main reason that this card should be used.  Bonemerang is a solid move, if you have some luck, so if you want to put this card into the active Pokemon spot, try and attach a Trick Coin trainer to this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average to well above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  All depending on the deck you're facing, like I said above, Bodyguard is the reason you would want to use this card, and it can greatly affect how good your deck is.  So, if you're building a deck, consider using a 1-1 line of this family to counter your opponent's strategy of inflicting special conditions.

Diglett -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:

Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Diglett from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  Diglett is a basic, fighting type Pokemon card with an hp of 40.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a free retreat cost. Diglett does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Ram that does 10 damage for one fighting energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Diglett is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Dugtrio, which isn't in this set but is in XY and Generations, you'll more than likely want to use this card with one of those two cards, but in this review I will be looking at Diglett on its own.  So, on its own, this card could be good as a starter type Pokemon since it can attack for only one energy card and has a free retreat cost, but I can't highly recommend using it because of the fact it has such a low HP and can be easily knocked out later in games once weak, starter type Pokemon are no longer being used.  So unless you need Diglett to get to Dugtrio in your deck, I wouldn't recommend using this card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Dugtrio, this card is below average.  I would give this card a 3 rating if Diglett's HP was higher, but because it is so low, I cannot give this card an average rating and I cannot recommend using it in a deck.

Reuniclus -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Reuniclus from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card Set.  Reuniclus is a stage 2, psychic type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90.  It has a x2 weakness to psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Reuniclus does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Link Fusion, this move requires two energy cards to use, one each of colorless and psychic, and does 10 damage plus 30 more damage if Solosis is on your bench, 60 more damage if Duosion is on your bench, and 90 more damage if Reuniclus is on your bench.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Reuniclus is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Solosis into play and then evolve it into Duosion before you can evolve Duosion into Reuniclus, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last two days.  If you've read my reviews of those cards you'll know that I thought both were well below average, I liked that the cards could both potentially do a fair amount of damage, but both had really low HP, and both required multiple instances of this line in play to do damage.  So knowing this about the first two Pokemon in this line and looking at Reuniclus, this card follows suit, in that it can do a fair amount of damage, 100 damage a turn in certain situations, but also has a really low HP, and because of this, I cannot recommend using this card in a deck, or any Pokemon in this line.  Of course, if you wanted to use this family in a deck, you should use at least a 2-2-2 line of this family thus giving you the best chance of always doing more damage with the Link moves on each of the cards.  100 damage a turn with Solosis is pretty good, but it will take awhile to set up, and it is not worth it to have so many Pokemon with such low HP in your deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 2 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  This card does have some potential, but overall, this card is extremely weak, used on its own, has a scary low HP, and depends on other weak Pokemon to actually do a fair amount of damage.  Because of the low HP with this entire line and their dependence on each other, I cannot give this entire line anything better than a 1 out of 5 rating.

Duosion -- Fates Collide Pokemon Card Review

Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Duosion from the Fates Collide Pokemon Card set.  Duosion is a stage 1, Psychic type Pokemon card, with an HP of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to Psychic type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one Colorless energy card retreat cost.  Duosion does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  This move is called Double Link and for two energy cards, one each of Colorless and Psychic, this move does 10 damage plus 30 more damage if Solosis is on your Bench and 60 more damage if Duosion is on your Bench.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Duosion is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Solosis into play (I reviewed Solosis from this set yesterday) and then evolve Solosis into Duosion.  Duosion does have a Stage 2 evolution in Reuniclus, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Duosion is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Solosis, you'll know that I thought it was a very poor Basic Pokemon card, based solely on its low HP.  Solosis is pretty similar to Duosion in that it can do a fair amount of damage if another Pokemon from this line is on your Bench, but with such a low HP, I couldn't recommend using the card on its own, and especially not more than 1 of it.  So knowing this about Solosis and looking at this Duosion card, essentially this card is the same as Solosis, it can do a fair amount of damage overall, but has an extremely low HP, and is made even worse by the fact in order to do more damage with Double Link, more of this Pokemon family has to be in play.  So I should know tomorrow, but unless Reuniclus is absolutely amazing, this entire line should be avoided.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Fates Collide set.  I was considering giving this card a 1 out of 5 rating, just like Solosis from yesterday, for its extremely low HP, but I like the fact that this card can do a good amount of damage if played correctly.  However, together with Solosis from this set, I can't give this line more than a 1 out of 5 rating.
