Jigglypuff #88/146 -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Jigglypuff Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Jigglypuff from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second of two consecutive Jigglypuff cards I'll be reviewing from this set.  Jigglypuff is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. This Jigglypuff card does not have an Ability and it only has one move.  The only move that this card has is called Body Slam, this move requires two energy cards, one each of fairy and colorless, and does 20 damage, plus if you get a heads when you flip a coin this move also paralyzes the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Jigglypuff is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Wigglytuff, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution, but I can discuss which Jigglypuff card from this set is better.  So, on its own this card would be an okay card to put into your deck.  This card would be good early on in the game because it has an above average hp, and a move that does 20 damage plus inflicts a special condition, so if you need one basic Pokemon card to put into your fairy type deck, I would recommend this one over yesterday's card.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average Basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  This card is limited in that it only has one move, but I do like the one move it does have, plus the hp on this card is good.  The only downfall of this card is that it is has a somewhat high retreat cost.

Jigglypuff #87/146 -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Jigglypuff Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Jigglypuff from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two consecutive Jigglypuff cards I'll be reviewing from this set.  Jigglypuff is a basic, fairy type Pokemon card with an hp of 60.  It has a x2 weakness to metal type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to darkness type Pokemon, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Jigglypuff' does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Rollout, this move does 10 damage for one colorless energy card.  Jigglypuff's second move is called Heartfelt Song, this move requires one fairy type energy card and allows you to discard a darkness type energy card from the defending Pokemon.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Jigglypuff is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Wigglytuff, which I'll be reviewing in two days since there are two Jigglypuff in this set, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon.  However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet and I haven't even reviewed the second Jigglypuff card from this set, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution or knowing which Jigglypuff card is better.  So, on its own I I probably wouldn't use this card in a deck unless I was specifically building a fairy type deck and I needed one more Pokemon to put in the deck.  I say this because Jigglypuff is quite limited in that it can only do 10 total damage and really only has one move because Heartfelt Song hardly will ever be effective.  Of course if you do use this card in a deck, the obvious strategy would be to start the game with this card in the active Pokemon spot and use Rollout until you get one of your benched Pokemon set up then move that Pokemon into the active Pokemon spot.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an average to slightly below average basic Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  Everything on this card is pretty average thus warranting a 3 rating but because the card can only do a maximum damage of 10, this card gets a 2 from me.  I would not recommend using this card in a deck on its own.

Aegislash #86/146 -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Aegislash Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Aegislash from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  This is the second of two Aegislash cards I'll be reviewing.  Aegislash is a stage 2, metal type Pokemon card, with an hp of 140.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a three colorless energy card retreat cost.  Aegislash's Ability is called Stance Change and says that once during your turn you may switch out this Aegislash card with one in your hand.  Besides the Ability, Aegislash has just one move called King's Shield, this move requires four energy cards, two metal and two colorless, and does 50 damage plus prevents all damage done to this Pokemon during your opponent's next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Aegislash is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Honedge into play and then evolve it into Doublade before you can evolve Doublade into Aegislash, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last few days.  Both of these cards are below average so they should definitely not be used without Aegislash.  However, this Aegislash card is just as bad in my opinion as the first two Pokemon cards in this set.  Even though there are two Aegislash cards in this set that both have the Stance Change Ability meaning you can rotate them in and out of the active Pokemon spot when you want, this card isn't good enough to warrant using that Ability.  So if you desperately want to use this Pokemon family in a deck, do not use this Aegislash card, instead go ahead and read yesterday's review of Aegislash.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 1 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a very miserable stage 2 Pokemon card from this set.  Not only does this card have a very poor move, but the move can only be used every other turn and the 2 Pokemon that come before it are pretty miserable.  So do not use this Pokemon family at all if you want to use this card.  Overall, I would give the entire line a 1 out of 5 rating.  Indivually both Doublade and Aegislash were 1s and Honedge was a 2.

Aegislash #85/146 -- Pokemon X and Y Card Review

Aegislash Pokemon X and Y Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Aegislash from the X and Y Pokemon Card Set.  This is the first of two consecutive Aegislash cards I'll be reviewing. Besides the Ability, Aegislash has just one move called Buster Swing, this move requires four energy cards, two metal and two colorless, and does 120 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Aegislash is a stage 2 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Honedge into play and then evolve it into Doublade before you can evolve Doublade into Aegislash, both of those Pokemon are from this set and I've reviewed both of them the last couple of days.  Both of these cards are below average so they should definitely not be used without Aegislash, and like I mentioned earlier, there are two Aegislash cards in this set, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow's review to know which one I recommend using.  Of course though, if you want to utilize this card's Ability you'll want to use both Aegislash cards in your deck, so I can review this strategy tomorrow.  So all I really can go by on this card is the Buster Swing move, this move is really slow and can do a good amount of damage.  So this move fits in with the thinking of evolving Pokemon into Aegislash on the bench, then moving it into the active Pokemon spot and using Buster Swing every turn.  Because both Honedge and Doublade are so bad from this set, I wouldn't recommend using more than 1 each of the Pokemon in this line.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a slightly above average stage 2 Pokemon card from the X and Y set.  I like its one and only move, albeit slow, it is quite good.  Besides the one good move, it does have a decent hp and a very average retreat cost which will make this card definitely one to consider in a metal type deck.  With that being said, I cannot give this Pokemon family, Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash more than a 2 out of 5 rating.  Indivudally, Doublade was a 1, Honedge a 2, and Aegislash a 4.

Tomorrow's Pokemon Card:
So thanks for reading today's Pokemon card review of Aegislash from the X and Y set, stay tuned for tomorrow's card review of the second Aegislash card, which is from this same set.  Make sure to check below for the Free Pokemon TCG Online Codes!
