Skiploom -- Steam Siege Pokemon Card Review

Skiploom Steam Siege Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Skiploom from the Steam Siege Pokemon Card set.  Skiploom is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an HP of 70.  It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Skiploom does not have an Ability and its only move is called Splash, which does 20 damage for one colorless energy card.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Skiploom is a Stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Hoppip into play (I reviewed Hoppip from this set yesterday) and then evolve Hoppip into Skiploom.  Skiploom does have a Stage 2 evolution in Jumpluff, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Skiploom is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Hoppip, you'll know that I thought that card was poor overall, mainly because of its low HP of 40.  Outside of that it was average, but because of that low HP, it was a card that couldn't be used in a deck.  So knowing this about Hoppip and looking at this Skiploom card, this card is pretty much identical.  For a Stage 1 Pokemon card to only have 70 HP is pretty sad and really makes it unusable.  Add in the fact it only has one move that does a maximum of 20 damage and there is a case not to use this card in a deck at all.  So unless you have to use this card to get to Jumpluff, do not use Hoppip or Skiploom in a deck on their own.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the Steam Siege set.  This is another card in this Pokemon family with a really low HP, I do like that this card only requires one energy card to attack and does a fair amount of damage, but is very limited overall in what it can do.  Together with Hoppip from this set, I would give the two cards a 1 out of 5 rating, definitely stay away from these weak Pokemon.
