Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Kricketot from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set. Kricketot is a basic, grass type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost. Kricketot does not have an Ability and it only has one move. This move is called Bug Hunch and for one grass energy card this move allows you to search your deck for up to 3 grass type Pokemon and put them into your hand.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Kricketot is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Kricketune, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So, on its own, I could see using one of these cards in heavy grass type Pokemon deck, then getting this card into the active Pokemon spot to start the game and using Bug Hunch one turn to get the Pokemon you need into your hand, then retreating Kricketot after that. I think this card would be better if used with Kricketune since it can't do any damage when attacking which makes this card not very useful later in games.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating. So in my opinion, on its own, without considering Kricketune, this is a below average Basic Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set. I do like that this card has a solid HP, low retreat cost, and can attack for one energy card, but Bug Hunch just isn't that great of a move, really only necessary to use once, and late in games is pretty worthless. So overall, there are plenty of other Basic Pokemon cards to consider when building a grass type deck.
