Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Scraggy from the Furious Fists Pokemon Card Set. Scraggy is a basic, darkness type Pokemon card with an hp of 60. It has a x2 weakness to fighting type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to psychic type Pokemon, and a two colorless energy card retreat cost. Scraggy does not have an Ability and it only has one move. The only move it has is called Corkscrew Punch, this move requires two darkness energy cards and does 30 damage.
Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Scraggy is a basic Pokemon card with a stage 1 evolution in Scrafty, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, you'll more than likely want to use this card with that Pokemon. However, since I haven't reviewed that card yet, I'll just act as though I plan on using this card without its evolution. So, on its own I could see myself using one of these cards in my darkness type deck if I just needed one more card to make my deck 60. This card really isn't that bad, especially as a starter type Pokemon, you could put it into the active Pokemon spot to start the game, wait one turn to get two energy cards on it then use Corkscrew Punch every turn, which does do above average damage. The reason I wouldn't use too many of these cards in a deck is because Corkscrew Punch requires two energy cards to use and the retreat cost on Scraggy is the same. Other than that, this card's HP is average so it will be able to endure an attack from your opponent for a few turns.
Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 3 out of 5 rating. So in my opinion, this is an average to slightly below average Basic Pokemon card from the Furious Fists set. I like this cards only move called Corkscrew Punch, it does above average damage and is not too slow to use. But because this move is the only thing Scraggy can do and because this card has a higher retreat cost, I wouldn't go overboard using this card in a deck, and only using one of these cards if I were to use one at all.
